Hi, I’m Kate and I absolutely LOVE to bake. I’ve been in the kitchen as long as I can remember, and was often recruited by friends and family to bake birthday cakes and other treats. I began my formal business in Fall of 2024 during my senior year of high school, though had to put it on a pause when I began studying at the Loyola University of Chicago, though continued to spend as much time as I could in the kitchen when home. With a kitchen on campus next year, I plan to share my baking at Loyola through orders and pop up events. But, while home for summer and other breaks, I plan to take orders from the Lombard area.
Why Kate’s Kakes?
As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions, I know I hard it can be when your treat options are restricted. I want to create an environment where EVERYONE can enjoy their favorite dessert. So, I hope to do my best to accommodate your dietary needs through my baking.
My business functions through orders, events and pop up pick up events. I will resume taking orders from Lombard this summer, and then move to take them from Rogers Park during the school year. Official events, both in person and pick up, will be updated on the events tab of my website and my instagram. In person events include craft fairs, farmers markets, fundraisers etc. Pop up Pick ups will be announced a week or more ahead of time, based on a set menu, and pick up will be on a set day.
How does this all work?
